woodland reverie
This sculpture, a marble carving, is a portrait of the artist and children’s book author, Barbara Libby, (I rode the Red Horse: Secretariat’s Belmont Race, and Old Cat). The sculpture was commissioned by her husband, Mort. It is now sited looking over the woods and lake at their home in Maine. I kept the forms simple and stylized, taking my inspiration from the work of the Korai of the Greek Archaic period.
Georgia Marble.
