The Proposal Tree

My client wanted to create a bronze tree to present to his girlfriend as part of his proposal of marriage to her.  He and I worked together via email and phone, each of us coming up with ideas that would symbolize various aspects of their relationship.  It developed into two intertwined trees symbolizing their two individual beings becoming one with the linking of roots becoming trunks that merged into branches and then to fruits.  One tree is abstract and geometric in its foliage, the other more organic, with the two styles blending into one.  Some of the personal symbols important to their relationship are depicted - two cats frolic around the tree trunks, the logo of the college where they met is in the foliage, and pomegranates have special meaning to the couple and thus are the fruit of the trees, with one of the pomegranates being transformed into a meaningful, hot air balloon.  "Will You Marry Me?" is inscribed on the base.  Other personal symbols and totems are on the trunks and foliage.   And best of all . . . she said, "Yes!"

"While C___ was the star of the show, your incredible work of art was a clear runner-up. Thank you so much for your creative direction, skilled craftsmanship, and artful execution of what will be a cherished family heirloom."    Dylan in Texas.
