Mentor: Walter Driesback
I met Walter and studied with him at the Cincinnati Art Academy in 1980 then continued for several years sculpting with him & a group of carving enthusiasts at his home studio. A superb sculptor and teacher, he knew the power and the beauty of form and stillness as well as anyone from the Egyptians to Henry Moore, and you can see it in his work. He also excelled at patiently sharing his knowledge. I am amazed at how much I learned from him and that I pass on in my own teaching. He had a long career of commissioned works in churches & civic settings and in private collections throughout the Midwest.
