The Mating call, or saxophone buddha

I set out to make a bronze saxophonist sculpture as close to an egg shape as possible.  It seemed a nice challenge.  The result, “THE MATING CALL” or “SAXOPHONE BUDDHA” reminds me of an air-filled, bloated, spring frog singing for a mate.  Others say he looks like Buddha.  Hence, two titles, since both the carnal and the spiritual are wrapped up in one sculpture.  All from an egg shape; who would have thought? Maybe something about an egg holding a life spirit asserted itself.
